In Boundary Bay Regional Park, the existing pond is deeply connected with its seaside context and fluctuates seasonally with winter storms and tides. Despite being home to avian and aquatic species, the pond was not realizing its true potential due to low water circulation and poor edge conditions. Skala Design, in collaboration with Raincoast Applied Ecology, worked closely with Metro Vancouver and the Corporation of Delta on a rehabilitation plan for the pond which allows public access and experience while preserving aquatic habitat.
