The design for this 2.5 acre property was a collaboration between Architects (Blackwell Architecture), clients and Landscape Architects (Space2place) with Alexa Uhrich as the project Landscape Architect. The client identified the need for a balance between equestrian and residential uses. This was achieved through careful siting of concrete and stone walls, specimen trees and a structured approach to planting. The placement of plants and site elements in linear rows reflects the agricultural character of the neighbourhood and integrates well with the design of the home. The resulting design fits the site, the clients’ vision and the unique character of Southlands.
